Employee Satisfaction

A Resource For Salt Lake County

One of Mayor Corroon's initiatives for 2008 is to increase employee satisfaction with their workplace and environment. A committee has been established to develop ideas and work on how to accomplish this initiative. The Mayor's Employee Satisfaction Committee would appreciate input from County employees on their ideas to increase job satisfaction and promote recognition for a job well done.

This site was developed to communicate with County employees on any updates on what the committee has accomplished. Also the site is for employees to share ideas from other Divisions and utilize this site as a resource for them. We have posted examples of Incentive Programs from other Divisions within the County.

The Employee Satisfaction Committee was formed in March with representatives from each Department. The committee reviewed the results of the employee survey given earlier in the year. The committee conducted focus groups with approximately 160 employees from throughout the Mayor's portfolio. Information gathered from those focus groups was shared at the mega-meeting in May. The committee brainstormed ideas and used information from the focus groups to develop the following list of ideas. This summary has been presented with a tool box to use as a resource which includes ideas on incentive programs, staff retreats, mentor programs, professional development, newsletters, traveling trophy, and other ideas for them to try.

If you have any ideas or programs to share, please contact Leslie Workman or Michele Nekota.
