Accounting Function Moves to Mayor's Operations:
As authorized by recent legislation, in April the County Council adopted a new financial administration ordinance which, among other stipulations, moved the accounting function from the Auditor's Office to Mayor Operations, as a part of the Mayor’s Office of Financial Administration. This was affective April 16, 2012. All functional areas under Accounting were transferred, which includes Accounting & Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Capital Asset accounting, and Payroll Auditing (Payroll Operations was already transferred from the Auditor's Office to Mayor Operations in 2011). The Auditor's Office division responsible for these functional areas was formerly referred to as the Division of Fiscal Accountability & Compliance (and, prior to that name, Accounting & Operations). Effective with this move, they will be referred to simply as Accounting, and report to Darrin Casper, CFO.
Currently Accounting is still located in the same area, however, since the physical layout in room N3300 of the Government Center has now been reconfigured (divided into two areas), the room numbering has been revised to reflect these changes. Accounting occupies room N3200, while the Auditor's Office audit function occupies N3300, and the Auditor's Office tax function occupies N3250. After remodeling to accommodate the organizational changes, Accounting will move to N4100 area. It is anticipated this will occur the first week of July. Please update your mail location codes and direct work for Accounting as described.

The Salt Lake County Clerk’s Office is in need of bilingual poll workers who are fluent in both Spanish and English to assist this year at the polls on Election Day (the Primary Election, June 26th, and the General Election, November 6th). Due to the census results, the Department of Justice directed Salt Lake County to comply with the requirements of the Civil Rights Act of 1975 to provide all voter information in Spanish and English and provide bilingual poll workers in conducting elections. If you are fluent in both Spanish and English and can assist the Clerk’s Office on Election Day as a poll worker, click here to sign up or call: 385-GOT-VOTE (385-468-8683).
